Blog Introduction — Matt Lozar, Assistant Director of Athletic Communications

Hello Golden Griffin women's basketball fans, friends and family. My name is Matt Lozar and I'm the assistant director of athletic communications at Canisius College.

I just wanted to post an intro to the blog that we'll be keeping throughout the Canisius College Women's Basketball Italy Tour '09. Unlike during the basketball season, when you only get to read my random thoughts, we're going to break this blog up among different members of the travel party. There's a nice seven-hour flight to break that down.

I can't go out and make any promises on how much content we will get online while in Italy, but we will be able to get blog entries on GoGriffs.com (and BuffaloNews.com) to keep everyone updated on the happenings during our whirlwind tour of Italy.

In the nine days of sightseeing, we're hitting a ton of cities (Como, Milan, Venice, San Marino, Florence, Rome), doing some cool things (white-water rafting, pizza-making, touring the Vatican) and even playing three basketball games. I'll try to get pictures online while we're in Italy, but will definitely get them posted when we get back to Buffalo.

My guess is that the next update will come some time on Friday. The travel party leaves Canisius on Thursday morning, has an overnight flight on Thursday night/Friday morning and then tours Como on Friday. I anticipate some downtime at the hotel on Friday afternoon/evening. So we'll check in then.
