Quinnipiac's Jackie Grisdale scored a game-high 19 points and grabbed six rebounds as the host Bobcats recorded a 75-37 win over Canisius in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference women's basketball action Saturday afternoon at M&T Bank Arena in Hamden, Conn.

Quinnipiac finishes the regular season at 24-5 overall and 19-1 in conference play. Canisius' season ends at a 5-24 overall and 3-17 in league action.

Sydney Ryan chipped in 11 points in the victory as Quinnipiac made 42.9 percent (27-of-63) of its attempts from the field throughout the contest, and went 56.5 percent (13-of-23) from behind the 3-point arc. Sophomore Irene Rey Pineda matched a career-high with 14 points for Canisius after she went 5-for-8 from the field and knocked down a career-high four makes from 3-point range. Senior Franka Wittenberg was good for 10 points and a game-high eight rebounds for the Griffs.

After Rey Pineda knocked down her first trey of the game to give the Griffs a 7-5 lead, Quinnipiac took control of the contest, using a 13-0 run over the next 3:15 of the opening quarter to take an 18-7 lead. A pair of free-throws by redshirt-freshman Ari Parker cut Quinnipiac's lead to nine points at 18-9, but the Bobcats closed the opening frame by scoring the final six points to take a 24-9 lead after the opening 10 minutes of action. Despite shooting just 2-for-13 from the field in the second quarter, the Bobcats took a 37-17 lead into the locker room at halftime thanks to a 7-for-8 performance from the free-throw line in the frame.

Rey Pineda hit two 3-pointers in the opening 1:28 of the second half to get Canisius within 16 points at 39-23, but Quinnipiac answered with a quick 8-0 run over the game's next 1:05 to secure the victory.

Canisius ended the game by making six 3-pointers, and the Griffs were credited with eight assists on 13-made field goals. The team also recorded eight steals in the contest, the eighth time this season the Blue and Gold registered eight-or more steals in a contest.
