Cross Country Heads to the Jasper XC Fall Invite

The Canisius cross country team hopes to continue their winning ways at the Jasper XC Fall Invite hosted by Manhattan. This is the first time the Golden Griffins will compete in this event.

Both the Men's and Women's teams won the Little Three Championship two weeks ago beating St. Bonaventure and Niagara.

Tom Appenheimer has been Griffs leading runner this season continuing his ways from last year. He finished third in the Little Three with a time of 15:09.2. Ronan McDonald, Andrew Perreault, Kyle Urban, Brody Jones, Max Chew, and Kevin Board all placed in the top 10.

Graduate student Olivia Moran took home first place in the Little Three Championship with a time of 17:51.0 which bested her personal 5K time by almost one minute. Canisius took the top four spots in the event with Jacqueline Appenheimer, Kayla Schmidt, and Jules Jones rounding it out.

Head coach Tyler Scheving is bringing in 12 freshman total with nine on the women's team and 3 on the men's team.

The Blue and Gold are back in action on September 30 at the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pa. hosted by Lehigh.
