Indoor Track Wraps Up 2026 MAAC Indoor Championships

The Canisius men's and women's indoor track teams picked up two silver medals as the Golden Griffins competed in the 2026 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships in New York, N.Y.

Day one of the meet featured the men's 5000-meter final, which saw two Griffs place just off the podium with senior Kyle Urban placing in fourth with a time of 14:35.51. Sophomore Nathaniel Fisher finished just behind him in fifth, finishing in 14:48.07.

The 4000-meter DMR team consisting of sophomores Jack Nesbit and Ryan Giglia, along with seniors Brody Jones and Joe Pivarunas, took home a silver medal, finishing in 10:06.92.

After qualifying for the 800-meter run on day one, freshman Jaxyn Mahoney continued to shine in the final, placing second, collecting the silver medal with a time of 1:51.84.
