ON THE TEE
• The Canisius golf team returns to the course Oct. 5-6 as the team takes part in the 2025 Matthews Auto Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Binghamton.
• This tournament format will be 36 holes, with 18 holes scheduled for Sunday and Monday. Action on both days will tee off at 9 a.m.
• Canisius returns to the Matthews Auto Collegiate tournament for the 13th time. The Griffs have been in the field at this annual event in every year it has been played, going back to the fall of 2013.
• Last year, Mikey Takacs shot two rounds at even-par 72 to tie for 17th in the field. As a team last fall, the Griffs placed ninth.
• In 2019, Canisius ended this tournament tied for the team championship with MAAC rival Rider, after both teams posted a team-score of 285. The 2019 event was cut to just one round after the second round was washed out due to rain.

LAST TIME OUT
• Canisius participated in The Virtues Intercollegiate in Nashport, Ohio, Sept. 29-30.
• Freshman Cole Thompson finished tied for 47th in the field with his three-round score of 227 (+11).

UP NEXT
• Canisius will close out the 2025 fall schedule when the team travels to play in the Bucknell Invitational Oct. 12-14, in Lewisburg, Pa.
