Golf Plays Final Round at Vitrues Intercollegiate

Canisius freshman Cole Thompson and junior Mikey Takacs each shot 77 as the golf team placed in the third and final round of The Virtues Intercollegiate, hosted by Bowling Green, at the Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio on Tuesday.

Thompson's 77 in the final round gave him a three-round score of 227 (+11), which placed him in a tie for 47th in the field. 

As a team, Canisius posted a 54-hole score of 962 to place 14th in the field. Notre Dame won the team championship with a three-round score of 843, while Notre Dame's Pavel Tsar won individual medalist honors with his tournament score of 203, which was 11 strokes under-par.

The Griffs will return to the course Oct. 4-5 when the team takes part in the Matthews Auto Collegiate in Apalachin, N.Y.
