Thompson's Back-to-Back 75s Lead Golf

Canisius freshman Cole Thompson fired back-to-back rounds of 75 to lead the Golden Griffin golf team through the first two round of The Virtues Intercollegiate, played Monday at the The Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio.

Thompson is one of eight golfers in the field tied for 44th after carding a two-round score of 150 (+6). As a team, Canisius sits in 14th place after the event's first two rounds of play.

Notre Dame leads the team portion of the tournament with a team score of 557, which is 16 strokes better than second-place Loyola Chicago. Notre Dame's Pavel Tsar leads the tournament after he shot 66 (-6) in both the first and second rounds.

The third and final round of The Virtues Intercollegiate will tee-off at 9 a.m., on Tuesday.
