Canisius Alumni Tailgate Party Planned for Dec. 9 at Pitt

The Canisius Office of Alumni Engagement will be holding a special pregame tailgate party on Saturday, Dec. 9 inside the Peterson Events Center in Pittsburgh, Pa., prior to the start of the men's basketball game between the Golden Griffins and the Pitt Panthers.

The reception, which will start at 4:30 p.m., in the Valasek Family Club, will feature heavy appetizers along with beer, wine and soft drinks. Two drink tickets will be included with your order.

Tickets for the game and the reception cost $60, and fans are encouraged to register for the event by Tuesday, Dec. 5. Please note, the price-point for admission to the tailgate party and the game will increase for those who register after Dec. 1.

The men's basketball team is 4-3 on the season, having won three of its last four games, including a pair of contests last weekend in the 2023 Northern Classic, which was held in Laval, Quebec. Four of the MAAC's top-20 scorers are on the Canisius roster, led by senior Siem Uijtendaal and his 14.0 points per game scoring average. Junior forward Frank Mitchell is one of two players in the MAAC to average a double-double at 11.9 points and 10.3 rebounds per contest.

The Griffs open MAAC play at home on Friday night when the team plays host to Quinnipiac.
