FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

1. Opening Tip
The Canisius women's basketball team returns home from a three-game road trip on Thursday, welcoming Quinnipiac to the Koessler Athletic Center. Tipoff between the Bobcats and Golden Griffins is slated for 7 p.m.

2. Last Time Out
Junior guard Shaunae Brown scored a Canisius-best 12 points off four 3-pointers — matching her career high — in a 57-44 loss to Marist on Monday from McCann Arena in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

Sophomore guard Dani Haskell added 10 points and six rebounds for the Griffs and freshman forward Rhay Porter recorded her sixth multi-block performance of the season, swatting away a pair of Marist shots.

Senior guard Erika Joseph posted a team-high three assists, tying her single-game best for a fifth time in her collegiate career.

3. Series History
Canisius is seeking for its first-ever victory over Quinnipiac on Thursday.

Since Quinnipiac joined the MAAC before the 2013-14 season, the Bobcats have won each of the 16 previous meetings against the Golden Griffins.

The last two meetings between the two teams have been decided by six points or less.

4. Letting it Rain
Dating back to the beginning of the 2020-21 season, Canisius has had a reliance on the 3-point shot.

Canisius has had 477 of its 1179 points (40.5 percent) scored in the last two seasons off of 3-point field goals. That total currently ranks as the 7th-highest percentage for a Division I program. The closest MAAC school to Canisius is Fairfield, who ranks 112th with 30.3 percent (618 of 2037 points).

For the 2021-22 season, Canisius has the 8th-highest percentage of points off 3-pointers (40.4%). Monmouth is second in the MAAC and 63rd nationally with 33.5 percent of its points coming from beyond the arc.

5. Thriving at Home
Sophomore guard Dani Haskell has scored 140 points in nine home games this season (15.56 points per game). Haskell's average is the highest by a Griffs player since D'Jhai Patterson-Ricks logged 16.1 points per game over 13 home contests in the 2019-20 season.

Haskell is just the fifth player (sixth occurrence) in the last 20 seasons to average at least 15 points per home game in a season.

The Franklinville, N.Y., native joins Jenél Stevens (18.7 PPG in 2002-03 and 18.4 PPG in 2003-04), Marie Warner (16.6 PPG in 2008-09), Patterson-Ricks and Sara Hinriksdóttir (15.57 PPG in 2017-18) on the list.
