Women's Basketball Adds Celena Grant

Canisius head women's basketball coach Tiffany Swoffard announced Tuesday that Celena Grant has committed to join the Golden Griffins program for the 2026-27 academic year.

Grant is the second player to sign with the Golden Griffins in the 2026-27 freshman class.

"We are thrilled to add Celena to this signing class," Swoffard said. "She possesses a winning mentality and is a ferocious competitor. Celena is a 3 level scorer that will flex 1-4 and make an immediate impact both offensively and defensively".

A three-time state champion and two-time MVP, Grant scored more than 1,500 career points while helping North Augusta finish atop the South Carolina state rankings in both the 2024–25 and 2025–26 seasons.

Last season, Grant shot 59% from the field, and 47% from 3, scored 12 pts per game and later helped North Augusta defeat Westside in the 2025-26 SCHSL 4A state championship game.

Throughout her career she earned five letters in basketball and turned in 89 games with double-digit scoring figures and Grant dropped 20-or-more points in 18 of those outings.

Grant was ranked the number one overall player in South Carolina for her class.

Grant also played club basketball with FBC United the Family which was the U16 Girls UAA champion in 2024.
