Five Things to Know - Presented by Salvatore's
1. Canisius Renews Rivalry with Niagara
• The Canisius men's basketball team returns to action Wednesday night when the Golden Griffins travel north to play at long-time rival Niagara. Tip-off inside the Gallagher Center is scheduled for 7 p.m. Canisius and Niagara will be meeting for the 186th time in series history, a series that dates back to December of 1904. Wednesday's game will also mark the 31st time in series history where the Griffs and the Purple Eagles have met on the hardwood inside the Gallagher Center.

2. So Many Close MAAC Games
•
The Griffs' one-point loss at Rider last Friday marked the seventh time this season where Canisius has played a league game decided by
five points or fewer, and it marked the first time the Blue and Gold have played in back-to-back one-point league games since Jan. 11 and Jan. 14, 1999.

3. Johnson Joins the Club
• Senior guard Malik Johnson became the 39th player in program history to reach the famed 1,000-career point mark last Friday in the team's road loss at Rider. Johnson, who reached the 1,000-point milestone officially with a 3-pointer at the 4:14 mark of the second half, is the first state of Virginia native in program history to
score 1,000 points in a Canisius uniform.

4. Johnson Closing In On Next Milestone
• Johnson, the program's
leader in career starts at 122, will tie former Griffs forward Greg Logins for sixth in career games played, and he starts the Niagara game just five assists shy of becoming the second player in program history to dish out 600-career assists.

5. Majesty the Microwave
• Canisius junior Majesty Brandon came off the bench and scored 14 points in the game at Rider, the 11th time this season he's scored double-figures in a game when coming off the bench. The last Griff to record 10-or-more games with double-figure scoring efforts off the bench was Jermaine Crumpton, who did it 18 times in the 2015-16 season.
