1. Canisius Takes Its Three-Game Win Streak on the Road
• The Canisius men's basketball team opens a weekend trip at Iona on Friday night, as the Golden Griffins travel to play the MAAC's four-time defending champions in their recently renovated building. The Griffs are coming off a 95-86 win over Rider last Sunday which extended the Blue and Gold's win streak to three straight, dating back to Jan. 12.


2. Lots of Points
•
Canisius' 95 points in the win over Rider last Sunday stand as the most points scored for the Griffs this season, topping the 94-point effort the team had at UIC on Nov. 26. Sunday's 95-point performance also marks the most points for Canisius in a MAAC regular season game since the team posted 98 points on the scoreboard in a home win over Marist on Feb. 25, 2018.


3. Griffs Love the 80s, and More
•
The 95-point win over Rider improved Canisius to 30-9 in four seasons under head coach Reggie Witherspoon.


4. Johnson Honored as MAAC Player of the Week
• Canisius senior Malik Johnson was honored as the MAAC's Player of the Week on Monday after he averaged 21.0 points, 8.5 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game last week in two wins over Siena and Rider. In Sunday's win over the Broncs, the Richmond, Va., native scored a team-high 18 points to go wth a season-best 11 assists for his second double-double of the season and the fourth in his career.


5. Fritz Has Career Day in Win Over Rider 
• Canisius freshman Jacco Fritz scored a career-high 17 points in the team's win over Rider, the sixth time this season he's posted double-figures in the scoring column. the Tiel, Netherlands native went 7-for-10 from the floor, 1-for-2 from 3-point land and 2-for-2 from the free-throw line in the victory. In the six games where Fritz has scored in double-figures this season, the team is 4-2.
