1. Canisius Starts Off 2020 at Home
• The Canisius men's basketball team will start off the 2020 calendar year at home on Friday night when the Golden Griffins play host to Manhattan in a MAAC contest at the Koessler Athletic Center. Game time is set for 7 p.m. Canisius returns home for the first time since Dec. 14 looking to snap a three-game slide, with its most recent loss coming at Pitt on Monday.


2. Tough Luck in the MAAC Opener
•
Canisius opened the MAAC portion of its 2019-20 schedule Dec. 23 at Siena, where the Blue and Gold lost to the Saints by the score of 73-72. This year marks the fifth time since 1989-90 where Canisius' MAAC opener has been decided by one point. The Griffs are 3-2 in those five games, with all five occasions coming since the 1997-98 campaign.


3. Getting Offensive on the Glass
• After grabbing a season-low two offensive rebounds in the loss at Siena Dec. 23, Canisius responded with a season-high 17 offensive rebounds against Pitt on Monday. Junior Jalanni White grabbed six of those offensive rebounds, which is a new career-high for the New Haven, Conn., native.

4. Brandon's Hot Stretch
•
Canisius junior Majesty Brandon led all Canisius scorers with 20 points in the road loss at Pitt, his third-straight game with double-figures in the scoring column. Entering Friday's game against Manhattan, the Bronx, N.Y., native is averaging 21.3 points per game over the team's last three contests, highlighted by his career-high 30-point performance at Siena Dec. 23.


5. Many Minute Man
•
Senior guard Malik Johnson ranks fifth nationally in minutes played per game at 37.8 minutes per contest to date
. In the team's last seven games, he's played 277 of a possible 280 total game minutes, and he enters Friday's game having played all 40 minutes in four-straight contests.
