Five Things to Know - Presented by Salvatore's
1. Canisius Back Home to Start Weekend Homestand
• The Canisius men's basketball team returns home Friday night when the Golden Griffins play host to Siena at 7 p.m., at the Koessler Athletic Center. The game is presented by Anderson's, and all fans will receive complimentary ice cream following the contest. The Griffs are coming off a 72-68 win at Saint Peter's last Sunday - a win that snapped the team's six-game losing streak.

2. Shoes and Sneakers Night at the KAC
•
On Friday, the Canisius men's basketball program and head coach Reggie Witherspoon will team up with the American Cancer Society to take part in the annual Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers campaign. Coaches from both the Canisius and Siena staffs will be wearing sneakers on the sideline to help raise awareness for cancer research, and the Griffs will wear custom gold shoe laces to support pediatric cancer research.

3. Lock Down Down the Stretch
•
The win at Saint Peter's last Sunday afternoon stands as the Griffs' first win of the season with the team trailed with 2:00 remaining in regulation time. Canisius, which was down five at 68-63 with 2:48 left to play, outscored the host Peacocks 9-0 over the final 2:12 of the ball game to earn the win. Five of those nine Canisius points came from junior Majesty Brandon, and three of those five points came from the free-throw line to seal the win.

4. Another Milestone Start for Malik
• With his 116th career start on Friday, Canisius senior guard Malik Johnson will tie former Griffs guard and Canisius Sports Hall of Famer Kevin Downey for third on the school's career games started list. Johnson became just the fifth player to start 115-or-more career games in a Canisius uniform when he was in the starting line-up at Saint Peter's last weekend.

5. Another ROW
• Freshman Armon Harried was honored as the MAAC's Rookie of the Week on Monday, the second time he's earned that honor in the last three weeks. Harried averaged 11.5 points and 5.0 rebounds last weekend in two games at Monmouth and Saint Peter's, and he enters Friday's game ranked 10th in the league with his 1.4 steals per game. Harried and fellow newcomer Jacco Fritz are the first Canisius freshmen duo since 2000 to earn multiple MAAC Rookie of the Week awards in the same season.
