Five Things to Know Before Canisius Meets Marist Monday
1. Faculty/Staff Appreciation Night
• Canisius plays its third MAAC game in six days Monday when the Golden Griffins host Marist in the Koessler Athletic Center. Game time is set for 7 p.m. Monday is Canisius' annual Faculty/Staff Night, presented by Own NY Real Estate.


2. Griffs Get Another Close Win
• Canisius is coming off a 75-70 win over Quinnipiac on Friday, the team's sixth victory of the season in a game decided by five-point or less. Of those six wins, five have come in league play, including the team's 75-72 road win at Marist Jan. 3.

3. Plenty of Sharing by the Griffs
• In the win over Quinnipiac on Friday, Canisius was credited with 17 assists on 24-made field goals. As a team, the Griffs are tied for first in the MAAC and 112th in the nation with 14.4 assists per game. In league games, the Blue and Gold is averaging 16.9 assists per game as a team, which leads the conference.


4. Sanks Makes His First Career Start
• Senior Jonathan Sanks scored seven points in his first career start on Friday as the Griffs defeated Quinnipiac at home. Sanks, who is averaging 7.5 points per game in his Canisius career against MAAC opponents, scored a career-high 16 points in the loss at Niagara Jan. 30.


5. Molson Goes for 20 Again
• Sophomore Takal Molson scored a team-high 22 points in the win over Quinnipiac on Friday, his fifth game of 20-or more points this season. He comes into Monday's game ranked fifth in the MAAC in scoring average at 16.6 points per game.
