Five Things to Know Before Canisius Plays Host to Fairfield
1. Griffs Close Out Weekend Homestand Sunday
• Winners of three straight and six of the last eight, the Canisius men's basketball team closes out its weekend homestand Sunday when the Golden Griffins host Manhattan on Alumni Day, presented by Pearl Street Grill and Brewery. Tipoff at the Koessler Athletic Center is set for 2 p.m.
The Griffs are coming off a 72-68 home win Friday over Fairfield, the team's ninth victory by five-points or less this season.

2. Friday Night Block Party
• Canisius matched a season-high with eight blocked shots Friday in the win over Fairfield, with sophomores Scott Hitchon and Jalanni White each recording three blocks, apiece. The Griffs, who enter the game averaging 3.3 blocked shots per game as a team this year, also had eight blocks in an overtime loss to Brown back on Jan. 8.


3. 30-FOR-30
•
Canisius' win over Fairfield, which gave the Griffs a season-sweep of the Stags, improved the team to 24-6 in their last 30 MAAC regular-season games. The win on Friday also stands as the program's 230th MAAC regular-season victory.

4. Big Night for the Bigs
•
Sophomores Scott Hitchon and Jalanni White both posted career-highs in the scoring column in the Griffs' win over Fairfield Friday, as the team's frontcourt tandem combined to score 37 of the Blue and Gold's 72 points in the victory. Hitchon posted 21 points on the power of a career-high five makes from 3-point land, while White chipped in 16 points in the winning effort. The two sophomores combined to shoot 14-of-25 from the floor and 5-for-11 from behind the 3-point line.


5. Faulkner Feelin' Fairfield
• Senior Jibreel Faulkner came off the bench and added eight points, an assist and a steal to the winning effort on Friday as Canisius swept Fairfield in the regular-season series. In two games this year against the Stags, the Washington, D.C., native averaged 12.0 points per game, highlighted by his 16-point effort at Fairfield Jan. 19. He also shot 9-for-12 from the field and 4-for-6 from 3-point land in the two games against Fairfield this season.
