Indoor Track Wraps up Day One of MAAC Championships

Canisius men's and women's indoor track program wrapped up day one of the 2019 MAAC Indoor Track and Field Championships at the New Balance Armory in New York City Saturday evening.
 
In the women's 5000 meters final seniors Siobhan Quinn and Carlin Sullivan finished with times of 17:25.28 and 17:46.75, respectively, good enough for fourth and ninth place overall. Junior Jackie Lamica finished tied for eighth in the women's high jump with a height of 1.50 meters.
 
Junior Anthony Belfatto finished 13th in the men's 5000 meters final, crossing the line in 15:25.95. Sophomore Turner Dirrigl and senior Paul Henry missed out on qualifying for the men's 800 meters final by just three seconds, recording times of 1:59.28 and 2:00.02, respectively.
 
Canisius sits in seventh place with 2.0 points and seventh on the women's side with 6.5 points. Monmouth leads the with 79.5 overall points men's competition, and Rider currently sits atop the women's standings with 69 total points.
 
The MAAC Indoor Track and Field Championships continue tomorrow at 5 p .m. EST. All events will be broadcasted live on MAAC.tv
