The Canisius men's and women's indoor track teams travel to New York, N.Y., to compete in the MAAC Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Nike Track & Field Center at the Armory.

Last weekend, the Griffs concluded their regular season at the SPIRE Collegiate Indoor Games in Geneva, Ohio. Freshman Jaxyn Mahoney captured his second 800-meter win of the season, leading a Canisius podium sweep. Senior Brody Jones finished second in 1:55.90, followed by freshman Jack Nesbit in third at 1:56.05. Sophomore Ryan Giglia rounded out the top five for the Griffs with a fifth-place finish and a time of 1:56.30.

Freshman Charlotte Keenan turned in another strong performance in the 400-meter with a fourth-place finish in 1:00.68. Keenan followed that up with a 10th-place finish in the 60-meter run with a time of 8.22. Junior Payton Calkins added to the strong day from the Golden Griffins, registering her first top-three finish of the indoor season in the 3000-meter run in 11:00.21.

The Griffs return top finishers from last season's MAAC Championships in senior Kyle Urban, who led the way with a sixth-place finish in the 3000-meter race. Fellow senior Brody Jones also placed seventh in the finals of the 800-meter race.
