Five Things to Know Before Canisius Squares off With Rival St. Bonaventure
1. So, We Meet Again
• After a week off, the Canisius men's basketball team returns to action Saturday afternoon when the Golden Griffins meet long-time rival St. Bonaventure at KeyBank Center. Tip-off for the 168th meeting in series history is set for 2:30 p.m. Saturday's game also marks the 100th anniversary of the first meeting between the two schools on the hardwood.

2. Throwing It Back for the Rivalry
• In honor of Canisius' 150th anniversary as a College, St. Bonaventure's 100th anniversary as a program and 100 years of the Canisius - St. Bonaventure rivalry, both teams will be wearing special "throwback" uniforms on Saturday. For more information on the Griffs' throwback unis, CLICK HERE.

3. Back in KeyBank Center
• Saturday's game at KeyBank Center will be the Griffs' 48th all-time contest in the building, and the program's first since the 2016-17 campaign. The Griffs are 29-18 all-time in the downtown facility, and Saturday's match-up vs. St. Bonaventure will mark the first time these two schools have met in KeyBank Center since Nov. 29, 2008 - a 68-66 Canisius victory.

4. Johnson Named MAAC Player of the Week
•
Senior guard Malik Johnson
was named the MAAC Player of the Week on Monday after he posted a career-high 27 points to go along with six assists, four rebounds and four steals in the Blue and Gold's 83-81 win over Bucknell last Saturday night. Johnson, who starts Saturday as the MAAC's leading in scoring average at 20.0 points per game, saved his best assist for last - as he found freshman teammate Jacco Fritz for the game-winning bucket with 0.8 seconds left to play.

5. Fritz Honored as Well
• Freshman Jacco Fritz became the first Canisius freshman since 2017-18 to earn MAAC Rookie of the Week accolades on Monday, as he was honored by the conference office following a 12-point, 4-rebound performance in the win over Bucknell Nov. 16. Fritz's last basket of the night served to be the biggest for the Blue and Gold, as his baseline lay-up with 0.8 seconds left on the clock helped push the Griffs to their first win of the 2019-20 campaign.
