Nate Fouts Commits to Join Men’s Basketball Roster

Canisius head men's basketball coach Jim Christian announced today that Nate Fouts has committed to join the Golden Griffins' roster for the 2026-27 season.

Fouts, who previously played at Le Moyne, joins the Canisius program from the NCAA Transfer Portal. After missing the entire 2025-26 season with an injury, he will have two years of collegiate eligibility remaining, starting next year.

"Nate is the ultimate team player who had 65 assists two seasons ago at Le Moyne. He can help orchestrate offense and make guys around him better," Christian said. "His ability to shoot threes and stretch the floor fits perfectly for what we do, and his proven experience is valuable to us."

A native of Skaneateles, N.Y., Fouts played 53 games over two seasons (2023-24 and 2024-25) at Le Moyne, where he made 20 starts. In 2024-25, he played in all 32 of the Dolphins' games and started 19. That season, he ranked fourth on the team with his 8.7 points per game scoring average to go along with his 4.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest. He also shot 45.8 percent (103-for-225) from the field, with 27 of his 103 makes from the floor coming from 3-point land. In 2023-24, as a redshirt-freshman, the 6-foot-8, 215-pound forward was good for 4.3 points and 2.1 rebounds per game in 21 contests.

Prior to joining the Le Moyne program, Fouts attended Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, N.H., where he served as a team captain and helped lead the Wildcats to the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) semifinals. A First Team All-NEPSAC honoree and a First-Team All-Lakes region selection, he averaged 18.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. Before attending Kimball Union, he graduated from Skaneateles High School, where he earned all-state honors after averaging 25.4 points, 8.0 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game in his senior season, a year where Skaneateles went 22-4 and made an appearance in the sectional semifinals.
