tThe Canisius indoor track programs will compete in the Spire Institute Midwest Indoor Track & Field Open this Saturday, announced by head coach
Nate Huckle Friday morning.
Canisius was scheduled to compete at the Upstate Challenge last Saturday but canceled its trip due to Winter Storm Harvey.

Last Time Out – RIT Invite
• Canisius opened the season at the RIT Invitational Jan. 12.
• Junior
Marcus Brown finished first in the 800-meter, clocking in at 2:00.76. The time currently ranks 10th fastest in the MAAC.
• Webster, N.Y., native
Nick Neamtu placed second in the mile with a time of 4:31.08.
• The Golden Griffins had three runners take part in the 3,000-meter. Freshman
Michael Peppy, sophomore
Turner Dirrigl and junior
Anthony Belfatto finished three-four-five in the event with times of 9:20.40, 9:21.00 and 9:21.05.
• Seniors
Carlin Sullivan and
Siobhan Quinn finished first in the mile and 3,000-meter, respectively. Sullivan posted a time of 5:25.19 and Quinn clocked in at 10:14.30, which is currently the seventh best time in the conference for the event.
• Freshman
Carly Benson ran in the 500 dash, completing the event in 1:40.17, while junior
Rachel Joachimi ran the 400 dash, finishing in 1:09.16
