Five Things to Know Before Canisius Plays Iona
1. Griffs 1-0 in MAAC Play for Six-Straight Years

• The Canisius Golden Griffins opened the MAAC portion of their 2017-18 schedule on Friday with a 77-76 win over Rider, extending the program's stretch of winning the first league game of the season to six-straight years. That one-point win also marks the second-straight year where the Blue and Gold opened conference play with a 77-76 victory - last year, the Griffs started MAAC action with a 77-76 come-from-behind win at Manhattan.

2. Defending Main Street
• Canisius heads into Sunday's game with a 4-1 record in its first five home dates of the season. The Griffs have won those four games by an average of 12.5 points per game, highlighted by a 104-84 victory over Youngstown State Nov. 18 in the 2017-18 home opener. At home, Canisius led by senior Jermaine Crumpton, who is averaging 19.2 points per game in the Koessler Athletic Center this year. Crumpton scored a game-high 20 points in the win over Rider, his fifth game of 20-or more points this season.

3. Moving on Up
• Crumpton's 20 points on Friday against Rider not only extended his streak of scoring in double-figures to 10-straight games, but it also allowed him to move past former teammate Kassius Robertson for 19th on the school's career scoring list with 1,237 points. The Niagara Falls, N.Y., native needs just three points to take hold of 18th on the Griffs' career scoring list - a spot currently held by former Griff guard and Canisius Hall of Famer Brian Dux.

4. Reese is a Real Steal
• Canisius sophomore Isaiah Reese was credited with two steals in the win over Rider on Friday to extend his streak of multiple steals in a game to six. The Miami, Fla., native has 72 steals in his first 48 games as a Griff, and he enters Sunday's game ranked second in the MAAC and 48th nationally with 2.0 steals per contest.

5. Molson Makes More History
• Canisius freshman Takal Molson started his college career with 25 points in a loss at Buffalo. That set the program record for most points by a true freshman in his first game as a Griff. On Friday, the Buffalo native earned his first career double-doiuble with 18 points and a team-high 10 rebounds, making him the first true freshman in school history to record a double-double in his first career MAAC game.
