Staerker Inks Pro Contract with Milwaukee Milkmen

Former Canisius pitcher Sam Staerker recently signed a professional contract with the Milwaukee Milkmen of the American Association.

During his career with the Golden Griffins, Staerker made 46 appearances on the mound and recorded 105 strikeouts. As a senior in 2026, the right-hander posted career-best totals with 57 strikeouts across 44.2 innings pitched. Staerker capped his collegiate career by striking out seven batters in five innings of relief during an elimination game against Marist at the 2026 MAAC Championships on May 20.

Staerker is the third former Griff to play for the Milkmen, joining Christ Conley and Ryan Boyer. Boyer is currently a member of the Milkmen's pitching staff and is tied for the team lead with three holds. He also ranks third on the team with 12 strikeouts in 7.1 innings of work out of the bullpen.
