The 2026 Acrobatics and Tumbling team features 26 student athletes. The group consists of student-athletes from 12 different states as well as three international student-athletes.

Head Coach Mel Goulding
Mel Goulding was officially introduced as the first head coach of the Canisius acrobatics and tumbling program on Dec. 24, 2024. Goulding joins the Canisius coaching staff after serving as an assistant coach for two years at Buffalo State. In her time at Buffalo State, she played an integral role in building the Bengal program from the ground up and was part of the staff when the Buffalo State acrobatics and tumbling team posted its first program victory. In addition to her coaching responsibilities, she assisted with the program's community involvement and fundraising efforts.

Big Things Coming for Acrobatics and Tumbling
This past January, the NCAA approved acrobatics and tumbling as an NCAA Championship sport, beginning in 2027. Since its formation in 2010 with six schools, the sport has grown to 52 programs across the country. Canisius is one of three programs that is starting its first year of competition.
