Acrobatics and Tumbling Faces Buffalo State and Mary Hardin-Baylor Friday

The acrobatics and tumbling program partakes in its first tri-meet in program history on Friday evening when they face No. 8 Mary Hardin-Baylor and Buffalo State. The meet is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start at the Sports Arena in Buffalo, N.Y.

Looking to Get Back on Track
Quinnipiac handed Canisius a 263.435-208.735 loss which marked the first of the season for Canisius. The Golden Griffins have scored above 230.000 in three out their four meets this season and tallied a program-high 238.465 score in last week's victory at West Liberty.

Kural Earns Recognition
Freshman Jaslynn Kural was named an Honorable Mention for the NCATA Freshman of the Week, last Wednesday. Kural competed in 11 heats over two meets this past week at Wheeling (Mar. 1) and West Liberty (Mar. 4). In compulsory, Kural notched program-highs in the compulsory toss (9.65/10), 5L acro (9.45/9.7), inversion pyramid (9.35/9.7) and a near-perfect toss heat (8.95/9). The Wesley Chapel, Fla. native helped the Golden Griffins score a program-best 79.140/93.45 in the team event en route to a program-high 238.465 points at Wheeling last Sunday.

Rematch With the Bengals
Canisius scored its first victory in its inaugural meet against Buffalo State on Feb. 22. Topping the Bengals 231.100-195.195, the Griffs came out on top in every single category which included a near-perfect 9.35 in the compulsory toss heat. A 73.950 team event score helped the Blue and Gold nail in the win.

Scouting Buffalo State
Buffalo State has reached the 200 point mark just once in four decisions this season and have gone 1-3 to start the year. After dropping the season-opener to Canisius, the Bengals suffered two losses in a tri-meet with No. 9 Gannon and Trine before scoring their first win against Gannon on Mar. 7.

Scouting Mary Hardin-Baylor
Checking in at No. 8 in the national rankings, Mary Hardin-Baylor holds a 2-2 record this season. The Crusaders only losses have come against ranked opponents, falling to No. 1 Baylor and No. 5 Augustana. Mary Hardin-Baylor has put up 245 points-or-more in all four outings this season.
