Spinosa Tabbed MAAC Player of the Week

Junior infielder JC Spinosa was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday.
 
The Bethlehem, Pa., native started off his 2026 campaign red-hot at the plate, playing a key part in the Canisius offense during the Golden Griffins' first road trip of the season at Appalachian State.

In the lead-off spot, Spinosa hit .417 with a .833 slugging percentage, two doubles, a home run, three runs batted in and three runs scored.
 
After the opening weekend, Spinosa ranks top-five in the MAAC in OPS and runs scored, second in hits and RBI and first in total bases.

The Griffs will return to action Feb. 20-22 with a three-game non-league series at UNCG in Greensboro, N.C.
