Freshman Nathaniel Fisher led the way with a top five finish as the Canisius indoor track and field teams kicked off their 2025 season at the University of Akron Campbell Invite.
On the men's side, Fisher placed fifth in the men's 3000 meter race with a time of 8:48.90. While sophomore Joseph Capuzzo placed ninth in the men's 800m race crossing the line in 2:06.69.
The Griffs also claimed four of the top-10 places in the men's one mile with graduate student Max Chew leading the way, placing sixth crossing the line in 4:27.55. Freshmen Adam Kozman (4:28.05) and Fenway Breckls (4:28.34) claimed seventh and eighth while junior Kyle Urban placed 10th with a time of 4:28.34.
On the women's side graduate student Stephanie Seyfang broke the school record in the women's 60 meter dash with a time of 8.28. Junior Jacqueline Appenheimer garnered two top-10 finishes, placing ninth in the women's 800m race (2:23.60) and fifth in the women's one mile (5:08.44). Senior Kayla Schmidt also claimed sixth in the women's one mile.
