Capuzzo Named MAAC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week

Canisius junior Joseph Capuzzo has been named the Jersey Mike's MAAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week after a standout performance at the Cardinal Classic.

The Golden Griffins traveled to Pittsford, N.Y., where the Waldwick, N.J., native captured first place in the 5,000-meter run, crossing the finish line in 15:09.54. Capuzzo finished 18 seconds before the second-place finisher, highlighting one of three Griffs to record a top-five finish in the event.

Canisius returns to action May 9–10 at the 2026 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Mount St. Mary's at Morgan Track in Emmitsburg, Md.
