Ryan Edholm Shoots 65 in the Second Round of the 2024 Porter Cup

Canisius golfer Ryan Edholm posted a five-under par score of 65 in the second round of the 2024 Porter Cup Thursday morning, putting him in the clubhouse with a tournament score of 134 (-6) after 36 holes of play at Niagara Falls Country Club.

Edholm, Canisius' top golfer during the 2023-24 season, fired a one-under 69 on Wednesday in the first round of the Porter Cup, which is considered one of the top amateur golf tournaments in the world. The Tonawanda, N.Y., native played in all 10 tournaments for the Golden Griffins in 2023-24 (25 total rounds) and led the team with his 75.8 stroke average. A finalist for the 2023-24 Canisius Male Athlete of the Year award, Edholm was the Griffs' top finisher in five events, including two of the program's four spring tournaments. Last weekend, Edholm won his second consecutive Erie County Amateur Championship at Elma Meadows Golf Course in Elma, N.Y., with his two-round total of 134 (-6), highlighted by his final round score of 63 (-7).

The Porter Cup boasts an amazing list of former players, including Ben Crenshaw, Jason Day, Bryson DeChambeu, Brooks Koepka, Matt Kuchar, Phil Mickelson, Adam Scott, Justin Thomas and Tiger Woods.
