Golf Tied for Seventh After Day One at Bucknell

The Canisius golf team posted a team-score of 291 Sunday afternoon in the first round of the 2025 Bucknell Invitational and are tied for seventh in the 19-team field after 18 holes. The Golden Griffins' 291 has the team tied with Wagner and leaves the Blue and Gold just one stroke back of Colgate and Mount St. Mary's, which are tied for fifth in the team portion of the tournament.

Junior Mikey Takacs led the way for Canisius on Sunday, as he shot a two-under par score of 68, his fourth score in the 60s this fall season. Takacs was one of four players in the field to shoot 68 on Sunday, and all four players are tied atop the leaderboard after 18 holes. After posting bogey on two of his first three holes, Takacs rebounded and carded five birdies and 10 pars on his final 15 holes of the day.

Freshmen Adam Chichowski and Cole Thompson are both tied for 35th in the field after both players shot 73 (+3) on Sunday. The duo are two of 15 players who shot a 73 in the tournament's opening round.

The second of three rounds at the 2025 Bucknell Invitational at Bucknell Golf Course in Lewisburg, Pa., is set to tee off at 9 a.m., on Monday.
