Golf Announces 2026 Spring Schedule

The Canisius golf program will open the 2026 spring season on March 21, when the Golden Griffins travel south to take part in the Carpetbagger Classic, head coach Todd Hummel announced today.

In all, the Griffs are set to participate in four spring tournaments, starting with the two-day, 36-hole Carpetbagger Classic, which is hosted by Binghamton. That event will once again be played at Worthington Manner Country Club in Urbana, Md.

On April 12-13, Canisius will return to the Abarta Coca-Cola Collegiate Invitational at Northampton Country Club in Easton, Pa. That event is also a two-day, 36-hole event, which will be hosted by Lafayette. On April 18, the Blue and Gold will travel to Kingston, N.Y., to play in the 36-hole Roar-EE Invitational, which will be hosted by Columbia. That tournament will be played at Wiltwyck Golf Club, a Robert Trent Jones Sr., designed course which opened in 1933.

The Griffs will close out the spring schedule April 28-30 when the team travels to Lake Buena Vista, Fla., to take part in the 2026 MAAC Golf Championship. This year, for the first time in league history, the men's golf championship will be held separately from the conference's women's championship event. The MAAC Championship will be played on Disney's Magnolia Course, and the tournament winners will receive automatic bids into the 2026 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship.
