On Saturday afternoon, one of Western New York's top college basketball rivalry series returns to the Koessler Athletic Center when the Canisius Golden Griffins play host to the St. Bonaventure Bonnies.

Tip-off for the 172nd all-time meeting in series history is set for 4 p.m., and the game will be broadcast live on ESPN+. The Griffs' radio call can be heard on the Golden Griffin Broadcast Network through GoGriffs.com and the Varsity Sports Network APP.

Tickets for Saturday's game, which is presented by Pepsi, are still available and can be purchased online by CLICKING HERE. The Canisius ticket office, located inside the lobby of the Koessler Athletic Center, will be open at 1 p.m., Saturday. Fans can also reserve their tickets for Saturday's game by calling the Canisius ticket office at (716) 888-TIXX from 10 a.m. through 5 p.m., Thursday and Friday.

With Saturday's rivalry game, traffic in and around Canisius' campus will be heavier than normal. Fans are strongly encouraged to plan ahead and use Parking Lot Nos. 15, 16, 17 and 18 on the University's campus map, which can be FOUND HERE.

Saturday will mark just the ninth time in series history where the Bonnies (1-0) will play the Griffs (0-1) at the Koessler Athletic Center. Canisius has won two straight and three of the last four games between the two schools, including last season's 70-67 victory at the Reilly Center in Olean, N.Y.

"I am really looking forward to hosting this rivalry game here on Saturday," Canisius head coach Jim Christian said Thursday afternoon after his team's practice. "I have always believed that college basketball is built on rivalries, and with all the conference realignment and TV deals going on, some of that has been lost, especially in the non-conference scheduling process. I give St. Bonaventure and [head coach] Mark Schmidt a lot of credit for continuing the rivalry. It means a lot to both schools, to our alumni and fan bases and to the Western New York community."

Canisius opened its season with a 93-64 road loss at No. 10/9 Arizona on Monday. In that game, junior Paul McMillan IV scored a game-high 20 points, while sophomore Dylan Godrey added 13 points, three rebounds and two steals. St. Bonaventure started the year with a 70-56 win over CSUN in Olean, N.Y., on Monday night.

After Saturday's game with St. Bonaventure, Canisius will play its next four games on the road, starting Nov. 13 at Mercyhurst. The Griffs' next home game is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 23, when the Blue and Gold plays host to Brown.
