Peppy, Men’s 4x800 Meter Relay Garner All-East Honors at ECAC/IC4A Meet

Graduate student Michael Peppy and the men's 4x800 relay team both earned All-East accolades to highlight a successful weekend for Canisius in the 2023 ECAC/IC4A Indoor Track & Field Championships March 4-5 at the Boston University Track & Tennis Center in Boston, Mass.

Peppy and senior Tom Appenheimer gave Canisius a pair of top-10 finishes in the men's 5,000-meter run as Peppy took eighth place with a time of 14:13.24 to earn All-East honors while Appenheimer finished less than two seconds back of Peppy in 10th place, crossing the finish line (14:15.11). Both times beat the previous school record, with Peppy shattering the mark by nearly 10 seconds (14:23.00).

The quartet of juniors Kevin Board and Ronan McDonald and freshmen Brody Jones and Braden Tent also garnered All-East accolades as they established a program record in the 4x800-meter relay, crossing the finish line in 7:44.33 to claim sixth place.

In the men's 1-mile run, senior Andrew Perreault placed 20th, posting a time of 4:10.20. Graduate student Richard Moore finished 32nd in the men's 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.05 while Appenheimer also took part in the 3,000-meter run, claiming 30th with a time of 8:25.81.

Senior Olivia Moran placed 10th in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:40.59, nearly four seconds ahead of the previous school mark in that event (9:44.21).
