The Canisius men's and women's cross country team wraps up their regular season as they host their annual Canisius Alumni Classic at Delaware Park on Oct. 17.

The Griffs return top finishers from both the men's and women's teams, with junior Clara Sundberg being the top returner on the women's side. Sundberg placed 39th last season in the 6k race, finishing in 19:40.8. Sophomore Julia Gullo finished just behind her fellow Griff in 42nd, finishing in 19:43.1.

On the men's side, sophomore Nathaniel Fisher is the top returning runner from last season's 8k race, placing 18th with his time of 25:53.2. Sophomore Daniel Granville (27:07.3/48th) rounds out the top two finishers for Canisius.
The Canisius women placed in seventh place while the men's team claimed a fourth-place finish in last season's event.

The Griffs are coming off a shortened Paul Short Run on Oct. 2 as elevated heat conditions and rapidly rising temperatures forced the cancellation of the final six races on Friday afternoon. The Griffs were scheduled to compete in the Brown Division races.

UP NEXT
The Canisius men's and women's cross country teams head to Middletown, N.Y., on Oct. 31 to compete at the 2026 Metro Championships.
