• First Pitch
The Canisius baseball team begins its five-game homestand as it welcomes non-conference foe Binghamton to the Demske Sports Complex in the team's home opener Tuesday.

First pitch is slated for 3 p.m. and will be broadcasted live on ESPN+.

Tuesday will be the ninth all-time meeting between the Golden Griffins and Bearcats and first since the 2015 campaign. The series is tied at four games each. Last season's midweek matchup that was set to be played in Vestal was canceled due to inclement weather.

• Last Time Out
Canisius began conference play 3-0 for the first time since the 2019 season after sweeping Mount St. Mary's this weekend.

The Griffs scored 47 runs across the three games, paced by sophomore Jackson Strong and graduate Dylan Vincent, who both recorded eight hits and three walks on the weekend.

The 23 runs scored in the second game of the series were the most in a game for Canisius since it defeated Saint Peter's 23-0 on April 12, 2015.

The Griffs also established a program record 18 walks in the game, which tops the previous record of 16 on May 9, 2021 versus Quinnipiac.

• Vincent's Hot Weekend
Vincent had himself a weekend and then some in Emmitsburg, recording eight hits, including a pair of four-hit contests on Sunday.

The fifth year recorded his first career multi-homer contest in the first game of the doubleheader Sunday before hitting his third long ball of the weekend in game two.

The Eldred, Pa., native went 8-12 (.667) with eight runs, a double, three home runs, 10 RBI, three walks and a hit by pitch while also posting a 1.500 slugging percentage.

Vincent established career-highs in runs (four) and RBI (six) in the opening game of the twin bill Sunday while tying his career-high with four hits in the first and second games.

On the season, Vincent is now batting .360 (18-50), with 11 runs, four home runs, 12 RBI, nine walks and a .469 on-base percentage while slugging .680.

• Strong Offensive Series
Canisius welcomed Mount St. Mary's to the MAAC in style, by scoring 47 runs on 47 hits and 28 walks in the three-game set.

The 28 walks drawn were the most in a series since the team drew 28 free passes in a four-game set May 9-10, 2021 at home against Quinnipiac.

Against the Mount, the Griffs posted a .373 batting average and a .488 on-base percentage. The team also slugged .619, collecting 17 extra-base hits.

Five batters; Vincent, Strong, redshirt sophomore JT Ennen, junior Max Grant and senior Mike DeStefano all had at least five hits on the weekend while also earning three free passes.

Vincent paced the team with eight runs scored while Grant and graduate Kyle Kush both crossed the plate six times. DeStefano touched the plate four times while driving in nine runs on the weekend, one behind Vincent for the team lead.
