2023-24 Basketball Broadcast Schedules Announced

Fifty-five (55) of the 59 combined Canisius men's and women's basketball games during the 2023-24 regular-season are scheduled to be broadcast live on ESPN+, the Canisius athletic department announced on Tuesday.

A total of 28 Canisius women's basketball regular-season games will appear on ESPN+, starting with the 2023-24 season opener on Nov. 6 when the Golden Griffins travel to play at cross-town rival Buffalo. The only scheduled women's basketball game that will not appear on ESPN+ this season will be played Nov. 26, when the Blue and Gold travels to play at Illinois. That contest will be broadcast live on Big Ten Network Plus. To see the entire women's basketball schedule with broadcast network information, CLICK HERE.

As of Oct. 31, 27 Canisius' 30 men's basketball regular-season contests will be aired on ESPN+, with the 2023-24 season opener on Nov. 8 Syracuse set to appear live on both ESPN+ and ACC Network Extra. The Griffs are currently scheduled to appear on linear television one time, as the Blue and Gold's road game at Pitt on Dec. 9, set to air live on ACC Network. That contest will also be available online for viewers through ESPN+. The men's team is still waiting to learn the broadcast location for three of its games in the Northern Classic, set to be played Nov. 24-26 in Montreal. "The Voice of the Griffs" Jay Moran will return as the primary play-by-play voice for both the men's and women's basketball teams on ESPN+, where he will once again be joined by color analyst, Richard Walsh. The 2023-24 season will mark the ninth year where the athletic department's digital media staff will produce live game coverage to be aired through the ESPN digital platform.

Additionally, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and ESPN announced Tuesday that four Canisius men's basketball games, including the Blue and Gold's home dates with Manhattan (Jan. 26), Niagara (Feb. 23) and Mount St. Mary's (March 1), have been selected to be a part of the 2023-24 MAAC Wildcard Broadcast Package. ESPN and the MAAC will announce the "Wildcard game" 21 days prior to the scheduled contest. The wildcard format allows ESPN to pick any game scheduled for that specific date to air on ESPNU, giving the flexibility to showcase the best matchups as the season progresses. Canisius' road game at Fairfield on March 7 is also on the list to be considered to be flexed to ESPNU.

Live audio broadcasts for all 30 Canisius men's basketball games will return exclusively to GoGriffs.com, with Andy Helwig '19 back on the airwaves for his sixth season as the team's primary radio play-by-play announcer. The online audio broadcasts start 15 minutes prior to tip-off with the M&T Bank Pregame Show.

Season tickets for all home men's and women's basketball games can be purchased online HERE, or by calling the Canisius ticket office at (716) 888-TIXX.
