The Canisius golf team opens the 2022 fall season this weekend at the Alex Lagowitz Memorial Invitational at Seven Oaks Golf Club in Hamilton, N.Y. Canisius is one of 14 teams in this year's field and the only MAAC school entered in the event.

The Golden Griffins are led by senior Shane Broad, who closed out his junior campaign by finishing fifth at the 2022 MAAC Men's Golf Championship, making him the first Canisius junior to earn All-MAAC honors since 2000. Last year, Broad played in all nine events for the Blue and Gold and led the team with his 74.4 stroke average.

This marks Canisius' first appearance in the Alex Lagowitz Memorial event since 2018-19. The 54-hole event will feature 36 holes played on Saturday, with a third and final round scheduled to tee-off at 9 a.m., Sunday morning.
