Edholm's 68 Leads the Way for Golf in Philly

Canisius sophomore Ryan Edholm fired a career-low 68 to lead the way for the Golden Griffins, as the team took part in the first day of the Cornell/Temple Fall Invitational at the 1912 Club in Plymouth Meeting, Pa., on Saturday.

Edholm's 68, which was two-under par, put him in a tie for fourth in the field. He posted three birdies in his first nine holes and ended the day as one of seven players in the tournament to shoot under par in the opening round.

Senior Shane Broad shot a 74 on the day, which ties him for 38th. As a team, Canisius posted a team score of 305, which matches the Griffs' lowest team round of the young fall season and puts the squad in 13th place. The Blue and Gold also had a team score of 305 in the second round of the Alex Lagowitz Memorial back on Sept. 3.

The second and final round of the Cornell/Temple Fall Invitational will tee-off at 7:30 a..m, on Sunday, and the Griffs will hit the first tee at 7:55 a.m.
