FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

1. First Pitch
Canisius concludes its string of non-conference games Tuesday when the Griffs host St. Bonaventure at the Demske Sports Complex. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.

2. 0 to 100, Real Quick
With a victory Tuesday, Canisius head coach Matt Mazurek would earn his 100th career coaching victory.

He would become Canisius' third head coach to eclipse the century mark in wins, joining Mike McRae (405) and Don Colploys (325).

If Mazurek reaches the 100-win plateau Tuesday, he would be the fastest head coach to register 100 wins (197), besting his predecessor McRae (232).

3. Series History
Canisius and St. Bonaventure are meeting for the 108th time on Tuesday. The Bonnies hold the slight advantage in the series, 53-51-3. Despite trailing the all-time series, the Griffs have won 16 of the last 21 meetings with the Bonnies.

Tuesday will mark the first time the Griffs are hosting their Little Three rival since May 4, 2018, in which Canisius took the victory, 11-0.

The Griffs and Bonnies squared off against each other on April 12, with Canisius coming away with an 11-1 victory. The 10-run victory for the Griffs was the largest win by Canisius on St. Bonaventure's home turf.

4. Steffan Right Up!
Graduate student Mike Steffan has recorded a base hit in 12 of his last 13 games, including his last five.

During the 13-game stretch, Steffan is batting .431 (22-of-51) with five doubles, a triple, four home runs and 23 RBI. He has scored 17 runs, while posting eight multi-hit games and seven multi-RBI games in the span.

5. Having a Grant Ole Time
Sophomore Max Grant currently has a .400 batting average on the year. His clip leads the MAAC and ranks 27th in the nation. No Canisius batter has hit for a .400 average in a season since Jeremy Ross (.400) in 1997. Kevin Vogel is the only other Griff to bat .400 or better in a season (.436 in 1985).

In his 63 career games at Canisius, Grant is batting .395 which ranks second in Canisius history, trailing Vogel's .402 average (1985-87). Grant also ranks third amongst active Division I players, trailing Jackson State's Ty Hill (.403) and James Madison's Chase DeLauter (.402) have higher career clips.
