Golf Battles Chilly Conditions in Connecticut

The Canisius golf team battled brisk temperatures on Friday, as the Golden Griffins played in the second round of The Connecticut Cup at Ellington Ridge Country Club in Ellington, Conn. The Blue and Gold posted a team score of 316 on Friday, and now sit in 12th place in the tournament's field.
 
GRIFFS LINEUP
Canisius junior Mike Donner posted a six-over par score of 78 on Friday. He is now tied for 69th in the field with his two-round score of 162. Graduate student David Hanes and sophomore Shane Broad each carded a 79 in the second round. Hanes will start the tournament's third and final round tied for 25th in the field.
 
TEAM LEADERBOARD
The Griffs' team score of 316 has the Blue and Gold in 12th place in the team portion of the event. Boston College posted a team score of 291 on Friday. The Eagles are the tournament's 36-hole leader, 16 strokes in front of host UConn and Drexel, which are tied for second.
 
INDIVIDUAL LEADERBOARD
Rider's Nathan Bazant fired a one-under 71 on Friday to overtake the tournament's 36-hole lead. His two-day score of 145 is one stroke ahead of Boston College's Brandon Kewalramani and Patrick Wu.

NEXT ON THE TEE
Canisius will take close out the third and final round of The Connecticut Cup on Saturday. The Griffs will start the day with 10:30 a.m., tee times.
