FIVE THINGS TO KNOW
1. Fighting Back for a Third-Straight Win

On Friday, the Canisius men's basketball team returned to the court a 41-day pause due to Covid-19 issues - and then the team faced 15-point first-half deficit - but the Golden Griffins kept battling, and ended up posting a 74-67 victory over Quinnipiac. The win, the team's third straight, came in the Blue and Gold's first contest since Jan. 2, when Canisius defeated Saint Peter's at home. The same two teams will close out the regular-season series Saturday in Hamden, Conn., with tip-off set for 1 p.m.

2. Don't Count Them Out
Canisius' comeback win at Quinnipiac on Friday not only extended the team's win streak this season to three straight, but it also extended another streak for the program as well. By coming back from 15-points down, the Griffs have now come back from a deficit of 10-or more points to win a MAAC game in five-straight seasons. Last year, the Blue and Gold trailed Manhattan by 18 points before scoring a 57-56 road win.

3. Making the Free Ones Count
Canisius made 22 free-throws in the win over Quinnipiac on Friday - the most free-throw makes in a game for the Blue and Gold since March 14, 2018 when Canisius hit 25 charity tosses in a CBI game at home against Jacksonville State. Sophomore Jacco Fritz made 10 of those free-throws in Friday's win over the Bobcats. That stands as the most made free-throws in a game by a Canisius player since Takal Molson had 11 charity toss connections against Quinnipiac at home on Feb. 1, 2019.

4. Feb. 12 is for Fritz
In Friday's win, Jacco Fritz matched a career-high with 18 points. He previously set his career-high with 18 points at Niagara on Feb. 12, 2020.

5. Green Means Go
Junior Malek Green came off the bench to score 11 points and grab nine rebounds in the Griffs' win on Friday afternoon. By grabbing those nine boards, he is the first Canisius player in the last 25 seasons to grab five-or more rebounds in all of his first seven games with the program. He leads the team and ranks fifth in the MAAC with his 7.3 rebounds per contest.
