1. Canisius Hosts Monmouth on Valentine's Day.
• The Canisius men's basketball team, coming off a 69-66 loss at Niagara, returns home Friday when the Golden Griffins play host to the Monmouth Hawks. Tip-off at the Koessler Athletic Center is set for 7 p.m. Canisius will be looking to end a two-game slide, with the last two losses coming by a total of four points.


2. So Many Close MAAC Games
•
The Griffs' three-point loss at Niagara on Wednesday moved Canisius to 4-7 in games decided by five points-or-less, with six of those defeats coming in league play
.


3. Welcome Back Jacco
• After missing three games with an upper-body injury, freshman Jacco Fritz returned to the Griffs' line-up at Niagara Wednesday and promptly posted his second career double-double effort with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Fifteen of his career-high 18 points came after the halftime break, where he also grabbed nine boards. Fritz's first career double-double came back on Nov. 23, when the Blue and Gold beat St. Bonaventure at KeyBank Center.


4. Johnson Nears 600
• Malik Johnson starts Friday's game three assists shy of becoming the
second player in school history to dish out 600-or-more career assists. The only Griff to reach that milestone is former guard Frank Turner, who is the program's career assists leader with 616.

5. Henderson Heating Up  
• Sophomore guard Jordan Henderson had 10 points in the loss at Niagara Wednesday, the fifth time in the team's last seven games where he's recorded double-figures in the scoring column. One of the team leaders in 3-point field goal makes this season, Henderson is averaging 9.4 points per game in the Blue and Gold's last five outings.
