Five Things to Know - Presented by Salvatore's
1. Canisius Right Back on the Court Sunday
• The Canisius men's basketball team returns to action on Sunday afternoon when the Golden Griffins play host to Marist at the Koessler Athletic Center on Super Bowl Sunday. The Griffs, who had just eight players in uniform on Friday, have dropped three straight, and come into Sunday's contest with an overall record of 8-13 to go with a 3-7 mark in MAAC action.

2. Everyone Gets in the Act
•
The Griffs had six players score in double-figures Friday against Quinnipiac, the first time six Griffs had 10-or-more points scored in a game since Feb. 14, 2017 against Iona. All five of the Griffs' starters had 10-plus points Friday, the first time since March 1, 2019 against Siena where the team's starting five all recorded double-figures in the scoring column.

3. Because it's Super Bowl Sunday...
•
Sunday's game will mark the 14th time in program history where the Griffs have played on Super Bowl Sunday, and the team is 4-9 in those previous 13 occasions. The first time Canisius played on Super Bowl Sunday was Jan. 28, 1996, in advance of the Dallas Cowboys winning Super Bowl XXX. On the four days where Canisius has won its game on Super Bowl Sunday
, the NFC representative in the Super Bowl has gone on to win the world title three times, with the last occasion coming Feb. 4, 2018 - a Griffs' win at Saint Peter's, followed by the Philadelphia Eagles winning Super Bowl XLII.

4. Johnson Ordering Double-Doubles
• Malik Johnson posted his third double-double effort in the team's last four games on Friday after he scored 14 points to go along with 11 assists against Quinnipiac. In his four double-double performances this season,
the Richmond, Va., native has recorded 10-or-more assists in the game.

5. Brandon Bringing the Heat
• Canisius junior Majesty Brandon scored a team-high 19 points in the loss to Quinnipiac on Friday, his 12th game scoring in double-figures this season. Of those 12 games, seven double-digit scoring performances have come in MAAC play. The Bronx, N.Y., native starts today's game ranked second on the team with his 12.8 points per game scoring average, and his 13.4 points per game in league play ranks eighth in the conference.
