FIVE THINGS TO KNOW
1. The Griffs Close Out 2020 on Monday

The Canisius men's basketball will officially close out the 2020 calendar year on Monday afternoon when the Golden Griffins take on Monmouth in the second game of a MAAC series. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m., in West Long Branch, N.J. Canisius is looking to end a two-game skid after the Blue and Gold lost to the Hawks 84-66 Sunday afternoon.

2. Griffs Love the 70s
Canisius scored 66 points in Sunday's loss, the second time this year the team has failed to reach 70 points on the scoreboard. Since the start of the 2016-17 campaign, Canisius is 13-41 when failing to score at least 70 points in a game. On the flip side, the Griffs are 54-26 (1-0 this year) when posting 70-or more points in a game since 2016-17.

3. Welcome Back
Canisius seniors Jalanni White and Scott Hitchon and sophomore Akrum Ahemed all made their first appearances of the season in Sunday's game against Monmouth. For Ahemed, Sunday's game was his first in nearly a full year - he last played Dec. 30, 2019 at Pitt before missing the team's next 25 games with a foot injury.

4. Brandon in Double-Figures
Canisius senior Majesty Brandon leads Canisius with his 16.3 points per game scoring average. His team-high 12 points Sunday gives him 10-or more points in 25 of his 35 career games in Blue and Gold.

5. Fritz Finding Friends
Sophomore Jacco Fritz has been credited with a total of 10 assists through the team's first three games, highlighted by five assists in the season-opening victory over Marist Dec. 11. He started this weekend ranked third in the MAAC in assists per game average and his 1.8 assist-to-turnover ratio ranked third in the league as well.
