CANISIUS BACK TO ACTION AFTER STRONG EFFORT IN ITHACA
• After placing 10th at the Cornell Invitational Sept. 14-15, the Canisius golf team returns to action Sunday when the Blue and Gold heads east to participate in the 2019 UConn Invitational at GreatHorse in Hampden, Mass.
• The Golden Griffins' 10th place finish at the Cornell Invitational stands as the program's best team finish at a 54-hole fall event since the took seventh at the Titans Motown Intercollegiate tournament last fall in Michigan.
• Canisius closed out the Cornell Invitational with a three-round team score of 885, the lowest score for the Blue and Gold in a 54-hole event since the squad posted an 880 at the 2011 Bucknell Fall Invite.
• Senior David Hanes, who posted an opening-round score of 69 at Cornell, finished the tournament tied for seventh in the field after he carded a three-round score of 215. That effort stands as his lowest collegiate 54-hole score.
• The tie for seventh at Cornell marked Hanes' ninth career top-10 finish, which leads all active Canisius golfers.
• Junior Michael Wells posted a tournament score of 229 at Cornell, his lowest 54-hole tournament score.

GRIFFS BACK IN UCONN'S EVENT THIS WEEKEND
• The Griffs are back in UConn's annual fall tournament for the first time since 2016, as Canisius joins the 14-team field
at the 2019 UConn Invitational at GreatHorse.
• The Blue and Gold competed in The 2016 Connecticut Cup, which was hosted by UConn, in 2016. The Griffs placed 15th in that tournament.

NEXT ON THE TEE...
• Canisius will return to action Oct. 6-7 when the Griffs travel Apalachian, N.Y., to take part in the annual Matthews Auto Intercollegiate, hosted by Binghamton.
