Track Heads to Slippery Rock for Dave Labor Alumni Invitational

The Canisius track program continues the opening portion of its spring schedule with a trip to Slippery Rock, Pa., to compete in the Dave Labor Alumni Invitational. Competition is set to begin at 9 a.m. Saturday from Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.

Last Time Out
• Junior Connor Doran had the most notable finish at the Geneseo Early Season Invitational, as he placed first in the men's 800-meters with a time of 1:58.79.
• Senior Paul Henry crossed the line in seventh place of the men's 1500m with a time of 4:09.78.
• On the women's side, senior Carlin Sullivan finished sixth in the women's 1500 with a mark of 5:04.66, while fellow senior and newcomer to the track program, Vivian Mroz just barely missed on qualifying for the finals in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.05.
• Hannah Latragna finished the women's 400-meters with a time of 67.23.

Record-Breaking Performances in Indoor
• Golden Griffins senior Siobhan Quinn broke the women's indoor 5k record during the Youngstown State Mid-Major Invitational Feb. 1. Her time of 17:16.89 surpassed the previous record of 17:46.90 set by senior teammate Carlin Sullivan.
• Quinn also broke the women's indoor mile record with a time of 5:06.04 at the SPIRE Midwest Open on Jan. 26.
• The men's 4x800 relay team of Paul Henry, Josh Sopchak, Turner Dirrigl and Connor Doran broke a record that stood for 20 years during the ECAC Championships on March 2, as they completed the event in a 7:44.99.

Around the MAAC
• Niagara will be the only other MAAC program to join the Blue and Gold at the Dave Labor Invitational.
• Rider, Monmouth, Siena and Iona will travel to Princeton, N.J. to compete in the Sam Howell Invite Friday and Saturday, while Quinnipiac will be in Williamsburg, Va. for the Colonial Relays.
