1. Hinriksdottir tallies another double-double
• Senior Sara Hinriksdottir picked up her fifth double-double in Thursday night's contest at Fairfield, scoring 20 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. This came just two games after her last double-double effort versus Saint Peter's where she snagged 10 caroms and scored 13 points. The Iceland, product now has eight double-doubles for her career.
 
2. MAAC's top defensive teams square off
• Canisius and Quinnipiac rank inside the top-five of multiple defensive statistical categories for the conference. The Griffs rank first in field goal percentage defense (36.3 percent) and 3-point field goal percentage defense (29.0 percent), while the Bobcats rank second in those categories. Quinnipiac has the top ranked scoring defense in the conference while Canisius sits fifth in scoring defense.
 
3. Looking for first W against the Bobcats
• The Golden Griffins have never beaten the Quinnipiac Bobcats and enter Saturday 0-4 in Hamden, Conn. The last time Canisius was in Hamden, they fell to the Bobcats, 64-38, its largest defeat at the hands of Quinnipiac in the all-time series. On Feb. 15, 2015, the Blue and Gold nearly defeated the Bobcats in overtime on the road but Quinnipiac held on for the 88-85 win.

4. Starting Five

The Blue and Gold starting five has scored 41.7 of the teams 59.4 points per game average, shooting 40.4 on its field goal attempts and 34.7 on shots behind the arch. Hinriksdottir and D'Jhai Patterson-Ricks have started 20 and 22 games, respectively, averaging 13.6 and 11.8 points per contest.
 
5. Best start in last decade
• The Blue and Gold have only had a winning record through the first 11 MAAC games three times in the last decade, including its 7-4 start this season. The last time the Griffs started 7-4 in league play was the year 2003-04, in fact, Canisius has only had a better record at the 11-game mark three other times since 03-04, when it started 8-3 in 2004-05, 2005-06 and 2008-09.
