Sophomore David Hanes shot a two-under score of 70 and finished tied for 27th in the field as the Canisius golf team closed out its weekend trip to the FAU Spring Championship at Osprey Point Golf Club in Boca Raton, Fla. As a team, the Golden Griffins finished the 54-hole event with a team score of 915 to place 19th.

Hanes' 70 on Sunday allowed the Elma, N.Y., native to finish with a three-round score of 216, besting his previous 54-hole event score of 222, set last September when the team took part in the Cornell Invitational. Freshman Matt Genaway carded a round of 72 on Sunday. He finished the tournament tied for 78th with a three-round tally of 225, his lowest career score in a 54-hole event.
