Five Things to Know Before Canisius Squares Off With St. Bonaventure
1. Canisius Back in the Empire State
• After playing four games in seven days in Florida, the Canisius men's basketball team returns to New York State
Wednesday and travels to meet long-time rival St. Bonaventure in Olean, N.Y. This is just the second time Canisius has played in New York State this season - with the first occasion coming Nov. 17 in the home opener vs. Albany. The Golden Griffins are 1-5 on the year, having just gone 0-3 at the 2018 AdvoCare Invitational in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

2. A Storied Rivalry, Renewed
• Canisius and St. Bonaventure will be meeting for the 167th time in series history on Wednesday, a series that dates back to the 1919-20 campaign. The Bonnies lead the series 100-66 after earning a 73-65 victory in the Koessler Athletic Center last season. Canisius' last trip to the Reilly Center was one for the ages, however, as the Blue and Gold posted a 106-101 overtime win in Olean, just the sixth Canisius win in St. Bonaventure's on-campus building in 38 tries.

3. The Molson 500
• Canisius sophomore Takal Molson leads Canisius and ranks third in the MAAC with his 17.8 points per game. In the loss to Memphis Nov. 23, the Buffalo, N.Y., native passed the 500-point mark for his career. He is the fastest sophomore in program history to reach 500 points since 'Sugar' Ray Hall accomplished the feat in 37 career games.

4. Reese the Rebounder
• Junior Isaiah Reese leads the Griffs and is tied for sixth in the MAAC with his 5.7 rebounds per game average. Of Reese's 38 boards this season, 31 have come off the defensive glass. He starts Wednesday's game ranked third in the conference and 188th in the country in defensive rebounds per contest.

5. To Give and Take
• Junior Malik Johnson enters Wednesday's game tied for 14th in school history with 315 career assists, a number he shares with former Griffs guard Dana 'Binky' Johnson, who was just named as part of the College's newest induction class into the Sports Hall of Fame. Malik Johnson has done his fair-share of stealing this season as well, as he leads the team and ranks second in the MAAC with 2.2 steals per game, which is 54th in the country among all Division I players.
