Five Things to Know Before Canisius Plays Quinnipiac
1. Two 2-0 Teams Meet Friday

• Friday night's Canisius at Quinnipiac game features a pair of teams that are undefeated in MAAC play, as the Golden Griffins take their 2-0 league mark to Hamden, Conn., to face the 2-0 Bobcats in Quinnipiac's TD Bank Sports Center. Canisius is 2-0 after earning a pair of home wins last week over Rider and Iona. Quinnipiac is off its first 2-0 start in MAAC play since joining the conference before the start of the 2013-14 academic year. The Griffs are also riding a four-game winning streak, which dates back to the team's 67-51 win over Elon Dec. 19.

2. Griffs Sweep MAAC Weekly Awards
• On Tuesday, Canisius senior Jermaine Crumpton and freshman Takal Molson were named the MAAC's Player and Rookie of the Week after the Blue and Gold opened league play with a pair of home wins over Rider and Iona. This marks the first time since 2000-01 where Canisius swept the MAAC weekly awards program. Fairfield started the year by sweeping the awards as well, earning both MAAC Player and Rookie of the Week honors on Nov. 13.

3. Crumpton Continues to Score
• Senior Jermaine Crumpton matched a season-high with 24 points in the Griffs' home win over Iona Dec. 311, his second-straight game with 20-or more points scored. The Niagara Falls, N.Y., native ranks seventh in the MAAC in scoring average with 15.8 points per game, and he has been good for double-figures in the scoring column in 11-straight games. His 24-point effort against Iona is his fifth game with 20-plus points this season, and he's now scored 20-or more points 19 times in his career on Main Street.

4. Reese is a Rare Company
• Canisius sophomore Isaiah Reese is the only player in the MAAC to rank among the league's top-10 in scoring, rebounding and assists per game average. The sixth-best scorer in the MAAC at 16.1 points per game, he leads the team and ranks eighth in the conference in rebounding at 6.4 boards per outing. His 4.4 assists per game is sixth-best in the league. In all, he ranks among the top-10 in
eight different statistical categories, including steals per game, where he ranks second with 1.9 swipes per contest.

5. Sanks Starting to Heat Up
• Canisius junior Jonathan Sanks had 10 points off the bench in the win over Iona Dec. 31, his second-straight game in double-figures scoring. During the Griffs' current four-game winning streak, the Warner Robins, Ga., native is averaging 8.8 points per game and he's shooting 60 percent (9-for-15) from 3-point land.
